Environmental Technology Grants
National Science Foundation
Due Dates: Full Proposal Window: Feb 1 - March 1
The Environmental Technology Program provides support to develop and test
new technologies across the range of sub-areas and activities in the field
of environmental engineering. These include new devices and systems for more
effective pollutant removal from air and water, as well as new technologies
that minimize or avoid the pollutant generation inherent in older commercial
and domestic processes and activities. The program also supports research on
the development and refinement of sensors and sensor network technologies
that can be used to measure a wide variety of physical, chemical, and
biological properties of interest in characterizing environmental systems.

on the topics of water supply and water availability, which are issues of
importance nationwide. Proposals are requested on the topics of water supply

Brownfield Redevelopment in Rural Illinois
Does your town or village have an abandoned service station or manufacturing
site? Would your town like to clean-up the property and develop it into a
business, community facility, or green space?
If so, your site may qualify as a Brownfield and your town could benefit
from working with the Brownfield Redevelopment Assistance Program (BRAP)
Our program, through the Stevenson Center for Community and Economic
Development at Illinois State University, helps rural municipalities
navigate through the Brownfield redevelopment and remediation process at no
cost to your community
We can work with your community to evaluate sites, apply for grants, assist
with development plans, and more.
To talk to a BRAP Fellow about this opportunity please call 309-438-3515
Illinois Governor\'s Conference on Tourism
Did you know that Illinois tourism is enjoying record growth? In 2005, 28.5
million visitors generated an economic impact of more than $26 billion and
were responsible for 300,000 jobs in our state. Not only did we see domestic
expenditures at an all-time high, but international travel has seen its most
significant growth in years.
>From February 7 - 9, 2007 at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago, the
Illinois Governor\'s Conference on Tourism, appropriately titled \"The
Future is Ours,\" will provide comprehensive information and useful tools to
help all of us keep Illinois at the forefront of the industry and maintain
our position as a leading travel destination. Join the Illinois Department
of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, Bureau of Tourism and Visit Illinois
as we celebrate the twentieth year of this annual industry event.
