It's Our River Day

The Lt. Governor heads an initiative that sets aside the third September of
every year as "It's Our River Day" in Illinois to promote recreation,
conservation and education about Illinois rivers. This day is meant to
celebrate and get the community involved in outdoor activities involving
local waterways. These activities have tremendous range, from cleaning up
the banks of a river to a community 5k race. It's Our River Day has been a
great success in the past, and this year looks to be the largest in the
day's brief four year history.
