Below are a few of the Earth Day events happening in Illinois:
1) Boneyard Creek Community Day, Champaign, Saturday April 19th, 9 - noon.
Pitch in to help restore the beauty of the Boneyard Creek through
Champaign, Urbana and Campustown by volunteering for organized
activities to clean up, mark storm drains and naturalize the Boneyard
Creek. Check in begins at 9AM in Scott Park. Volunteer receive a free
t-shirt and lunch. For more information and to register go to

2) Bartlett Nature Center Earth day Celebration, Saturday April 19th,
12-4, James "Pate" Phillip State Park. During this free event, parents
and children of all ages will participate in live animal shows, hands
on activities, and educational presentations, which help to promote an
overall awareness of the environmental issues that surround us. For
more information, contact Judy martin at JMartin at bartlettparks.org.
3) Electronics recycling in Champaign. The City of Champaign, along
with the City of Urbana, Champaign County and the Village of Mahomet,
are hosting a cooperative electronics recycling event on April 19,
2008. The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 19, and will be held
at the University of Illinois Waste Transfer Site at 10 East St.
Mary's Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
