Prairie Rivers Network’s volunteer-based stream monitoring program, Illinois Stream Team, is no longer offering trainings to new volunteers. However, we will be maintaining a list of folks interested in stream monitoring and will distribute information on trainings, if and when they become available.

In the meantime, there are two options for becoming active in volunteer stream monitoring. You can contact Traci Barkley (tbarkley@prairierivers.org) to find out if there is an existing Stream Team monitoring group in your area that you might be able to join. The other option is to become trained or active with another monitoring program administered by a different program. A list of other Illinois-based monitoring programs is provided below.

Thanks so much for your interest in protecting Illinois rivers and streams!
